A direct line unheard of since Hoover’s backroom deals with FDR gives Patel an unfiltered pipeline to Trump, letting him drop bombshells (like the March 10 arrest of soldiers for leaking defense intel to China) without Bondi’s spin. Is this a power grab masked as pragmatism, ensuring Trump hears Patel’s version first and fast?
Because it looks like someone has established the fact that Pam Bondi can not be trusted. Ok, Kash that’s one point on the board for you. Now that you may suspect that nothing meaningful can be done if someone is potentially sabotaging investigations to protect certain figures that may or may not have any relation to J. Epstein.
Timing matters here.
The request comes days after Bondi’s March 3 pledge to release more Epstein files, amid grumbling from Trump’s base about her dud rollout. Patel’s move on March 11 could signal he’s racing to expose something big like hidden Epstein dirt or DOJ corruption before Bondi can bury it.
Patel’s insistence on secure lines from home and office suggests he’s paranoid about surveillance maybe by Bondi’s team or foreign actors like China, given his recent busts. Is he playing spy vs. spy, assuming every channel but his own is tapped?
If Patel thinks Bondi’s compromised say, by old Florida political debts or pressure from Epstein-adjacent elites he’s positioning to outflank her.
The direct line lets him brief Trump on raw intel like the “thousands of pages” Bondi claimed the FBI’s New York office withheld before she can sanitize it. This could tie into Trump’s electricity emergency or broader moves against China, where Patel’s already flexing muscle. He’s probably betting Bondi’s either too slow or too dirty to handle the real fight, so he appears to be building his own fortress.
