China’s new factory in the Shanghai Lingang area (operated by Agibot, the startup backed by Pegatron and state-affiliated capital) can stamp out a humanoid robot every 10 minutes. That sounds terrifying until you realize what they’re actually stamping out: a knockoff of a knockoff.
No matter what they do they know they are behind in every way. That is why they have to resort to media campaigns to discourage development by getting American citizens to protest and rally against American manufacturing.
