The Freedom 250 Event at the White House was a spectacular, resounding success. A storm parted around Washington just before the event, on President Trump’s 80th birthday, delivering absolutely perfect weather, in what was supposed to be disastrous conditions.

Every fight on the card was exciting, but in the main event, a massive American underdog bested an undefeated champion to win the world title, a champion who was considered the most skilled fighter in the world and a lock to win by all of the experts. This American underdog started his walk out by reading the Declaration of Independence in the Oval Office. He came out to the lyrics “there ain’t no grave to hold my body down” by Johnny Cash, sung by the Marine Corp band.

Most followers of mixed martial arts consider the production of this event to be the greatest ever delivered to the viewing public in the history of the sport.
