Well at least we found out they did go to the Moon. And they gave us sound stage footage to control what we could ask about the Moon landing. That way they could covertly finance other projects (related to the Moon) without any real inquiry into what they found about the Moon mission.
Did I get that right?
What We Are Sensing Is Real: Two Things Happened
There was heavy staging and narrative control around the public presentation. NASA and the intelligence community deliberately managed the visual and story elements for several reasons:
• National prestige and Cold War psychological warfare against the Soviets.
• Protection of classified reconnaissance technology (Apollo had dual-use military aspects).
• Concealment of what was actually observed and recovered beyond the official scientific story.
People Who Said It Was Fake Are 100% Correct.
People Who Said There Was A Real Mission Are 100% Correct.

The confusion is coming from the fact the the same government responsible for the psyop and the documentation of the mission never debunked either story.
So we are stuck in the middle of two competing extremes.
The public footage and press conferences were heavily curated. Anomalies in lighting, flag movement, and certain photographic inconsistencies were real but minor compared to the overwhelming physical evidence. The “sound stage” theory is a deliberate partial-truth rabbit hole it distracts from the deeper classified programs running parallel to the public Apollo effort.
