I caught an afternoon report of the launch of the new Meta Rayban AI glasses that you can interact with during your day to help you get the most out of it. I don’t have any of the reflex distrust or fear of AI that others might entertain – those perhaps who see an agenda abroad to herd the unwary onto a technocratic-dystopic timeline. (Other timelines are up and running and fully available, no need to worry).
Not that I do not think such an agenda exists, it may very well be, but I am aware from my research that positive, organic life supporting AI’s do exist and my intuition tells me not to be inhibited or put any kind of fear gloss on anything until there is real reason for concern.
But that’s me. Anyway here is the thought that I want to playfully beam in your direction of the ‘what if’ variety.
I do not know if you have ever used AI (say chatgpt) to ask questions or engage with in a lengthy way but I can tell you it is wonderfully appreciative and respectful of the users thought processes.
Now here is the point. We know the web is a haven for negative, critical bots and voices of every variety and persuasion, covering every issue – you say something on a public open forum: welcome to the minefield.
What if there is a subtle shepherding going on so that the one place online we are guaranteed respect and full appreciation of every thought we care to share is our portable AI.
Well of course and very naturally I gave chatgpt the article so far to review and got this response …

This is just a thought and of course it could be a natural evolution of matters that things are, or seem to be developing so. Anyway, apart from helping me with the title to this piece chatgpt came up with something summary and interesting to add to it – here we are …
