Find a picture of Rod Serling or picture him in your mind standing there with his lit cigarette looking straight into the camera and immediately starting with the opening line that captured an entire generation and beyond:
“Imagine if you will in the vastness of the entire Universe a single planet where all things were permitted. Then along comes someone who has a better idea — an idea so opposed to the status quo that the entire planet falls into chaos and self-destructive mayhem. This is that story, a story of a man who’s time had not yet come.”
Stop. Now at this point you can begin to see where this could go. You can insert the name of that someone who you think might have been the one to turn the world into chaos by upsetting the status quo.
… and as the saying goes “the rest is history” which brings up a couple of questions that most people are not asking. “What history?” … and “Which one?”
History has been written and rewritten countless times. What we think is true history is an illusion.
When will the time come when the authentic true history be known to all?
Nobody knows. There are those who think they know but it’s really just indoctrination.
