TEMPTATIONS
These are days of constant turmoil and threats of destruction. The enemy of God and man, with his innumerable host of minions is working desperately, to discourage and overwhelm the faithful followers of God and Christ.
God will win. It cannot be otherwise. This is His Work, His Creation. Neither S---n nor with all his minions can take it from Him. Those who cast their lot with Christ will win also, if they persevere, endure and suffer along with Him.
If you falter, get up. If you loose your way, call out to Him, He knows where you are all the time. His whole ambition is to help those who stray to find their way back to the path, to give strength to those who think they cannot endure. Remember that God has not left any one of us here to go alone through this life. Remember that he will help you if and when you ask Him.
Many people watch for miracles as a foundation for their faith. Miraculous events can encourage us, but the most important aspect of miracles is that they, like light posts on a dark street, help us to remember the way home. If only we realized that we see miracles every day from the time we awake to the time we lay down again to rest. Every breath we draw is an amazing miracle.
It seems that some of our brothers and sisters, are afraid of worldly temptations. In truth the Lord would rather see that you refused a temptation than that you were never tempted. Jesus Himself admitted that he had been tempted by the enemy, in his time of weakness in the wilderness. But he said NO. When we are tempted, as we certainly will be, we must first say no and then order the tempter to leave our presence. This world was, in part, designed specifically to tempt us, particularly in our hours of weakness. We need always to be prepared to say, NO and turn away from the temptation.
If we ask our Lord for help, we will obtain help, that our determination will not falter. If we do fall, we need to get up again and go on with an even greater determination to endure with honor. Our Lord rejoices more over us who repent of our sins than those who need no repentance. He will rejoice with us as we stand up again and pray for his help again that we may go on with hope and trust in His Infinite Grace.
