Why Is Elon Not Making This Distinction?
This Is Driving Me Insane
Hypothetically Speaking- If artificial general intelligence (AGI) or artificial superintelligence (ASI) arrives first, the development and scaling timeline for high-bandwidth brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) like Neuralink’s Telepathy would most likely compress from years down to months or weeks.
Everyone Sound Like They Are Terrified Of Regulatory Bodies
Musk’s projection of a “few years” for high-bandwidth thought-to-digital output assumes “current” (meaning human) engineering bottlenecks such as manual software optimization, clinical trial iterations, biocompatibility refinement, and neural-decoder training cycles done by human teams.
But when you look back at recent statements by Elon he stated on multiple occasions that Grok 5 will be his best engineer. Meaning humans will no longer be involved in the development of Nueralink. We will be at that point dealing only in machines capabilities. Maybe he just doesn’t want to deal with the hassle of FDA scrutiny.
But he only has a few months where he can still pretend that those few years will actually hold in the face of Super Intelligence especially when he is dealing with China.
People Have To Understand Why I Am Saying This
An ASI system wouldn’t be bound by human working hours, traditional trial-and-error debugging, or slow neuro-data analysis. No sick days. No time off. No weekends. No paternity leave. No holidays. No vacations. No lunch breaks. We are talking about 0 development issues. 24/Agentic AI Agents working.
An intelligence vastly exceeding human capability could simultaneously (in most domains) simulate neural pathways, rewrite decoding algorithms in real time, and design next-generation application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) almost instantaneously.
