Drone Musings:
Drones likely mini RPVs with radar invisibility. Old tech by any standard.
One explanation for the drones that are capturing public attention is an old technology that was being developed at least in 1976-1977 when I worked at a military base just out of high school. The tech I was aware of then were referred to as mini RPVs (RPV = remotely piloted vehicle) and they were about the size of an automobile. The group I am familiar with working on them, was for the purpose of reconnaissance. The program I was aware of was focused on making these RPVs radar invisible. To me, that would have been a waste of time even then as the technology for radar invisibility was already known to our military, as demonstrated in experiments that relate to what is popularly known as the Philadelphia Experiment (Project Rainbow), e.g., N. Tesla tech. And the N--i’s may have had this tech at least as early as the 1930s., think Project Riese and/or the N--i Bell, etc.
During the late 1970s/early 1980s the mini RPVs I am aware of, with radar invisibility capability, were being developed at a base in Virginia, and tested at military installations in New York and California.
Dr. Peter Beter mentioned RPVs over a dozen times in his audio letters, issued between 1975 and 1982, sans the radar invisibility aspects.
I strongly suspect that the drones being seen are homegrown and utterly of this world, even if the initial knowledge about how to develop them came from elsewhere.
