I’m 73 in my life I’ve been asked the question a few times. The first couple of times I had no answer. I was young but it made me think and that thinking made me realize I was young and had little experience. So through my years I always keep that question in back of my mind and every now and then I would rehash it. When I was young I was mentored by my father he was a extremely intelligent man every thing he knew he taught himself he never graduated high school his father died and he had to quit to help support his mother and two brothers. Now just to give you an idea of what he taught himself we lived in New England he had a job with the government repairing nice missile guidance systems when they malfunctioned he self taught himself then in late fifties he opened a electrical repair shop . My father was aware of what was going on in this country and the world he always told the government murdered Kennedy and he was vary negative and he didn’t believe in god and tried to pound that into my head when I was young and just to give an idea how young I was he never let have a friend until I was 12 years old I spent all my time with him until I was 12 . And the subject of life was always on top of the list. Every thing that came out of his mouth about life was negative he said there was no meaning to life no matter how hard you work you will never get a head the ruling class had their thumb on you and you were nothing to them and theirs no god . At first I listened but as I got older I would ask questions. The questions were about God . He said if their was a God there would be no wars no suffering all people would get a long . He would always chastise me because I believed God existed at that young age . My grandma always made us go to church when we were young. He said to me you think god exist prove it . So I said you told me that man and all animals developed through evolution . And he said yes they did then then tell how the chicken came chickens come from eggs . He stop what he was doing and he just looked at me . And he said something I will remember for the rest of my life he said your to smart for your own good some day that will come back and bite you in the a-s . After that he never again told me he didn’t believe in God . That was when I started to think about life what is life about . He would tell me you needed money to be happy which to me was confusing . I said if you need money to be happy dose that mean that those people who live in the woods in South America are unhappy because they don’t have money. He looked at me and said sometimes you worry me . He said I guess you’ll figure out what life’s about on your own . After time I realized there is no meaning to life . Life is what you make of it no matter what happens every single person a live is in control of their destiny and that control is determined by the choices you make for example you don’t have to stop at that red light you don’t have pay taxes you have to pay your credit cards the only thing you have to do is is be willing to except the consequences. How you handle yourself in life is up to you you make your own rules .everyone has their idea about what life is you set your rules and live with them . There are certain unwritten rules that apply to everyone. Such as respect in the end the respect you get is equal to the respect you gave and there will be rules you make for yourself such as In passing this way if there is any good that I may do or any deed that maybe asked of me ask of it for I shall pass this way but once . We are here because our creator chose us or elected us to be here. Make the best of it .a wise old man once said try a little kindness 100 years from now no one will ever know the difference. We are all in this together and if everyone can be happy with your self and everyone else what other meaning can there be so live long and prosper.
