Does Mankind need a Savior

In order to answer this question one has to review the beginnings. Genesis 1 and 2 paint the picture of what the first man was like, specifically man’s relationship to God and Creation. God, Yahweh, created man as a relational being. All of the Universe was created by a Word from Father’s own mouth, let there be, and there was. However, Father did something unusual when it came to man. After He created the Earth and all the creatures on it except man, He came to the Earth in bodily form and took the clay of the Earth and formed the complete body to contain this being called Adam. The human body is quite complex consisting of a neurological system, a skeletal system, an endocrine system, a circulatory system, a lymphatic system, digestion system to name a few and all the associated organs to make them work together in harmony. Having completed the clay model, the Father of Creation bent over and breathed in to the nostrils of this clay model the breath of Life, the soul that He called Adam. The first thing that Adam saw through these newly created eyes was the joyful face of His Father, who was quite satisfied with His new being. The relationship between man and his Creator had begun.

Adam was created perfectly and designed to live forever, eternally, as was all the creatures of the Earth. There was no death in all of Creation. Death did not exist. Father made Adam aware of His creation and placed in to his hands all creation on Earth, to tend to, to represent Father God to all of the Earth. At this point of time all of Earth’s creatures operated in perfect harmony, symbiotic with each other. Each adding to the other so the creatures were greater than the sum of the parts. Life flourished on Earth. Father gave Adam the task of naming every creature on Earth. For him to name them he needed to know them, personally, for the names were descriptive. This implies that Adam would establish a relationship with each creature, and their descendants, forever. Since these creatures were through all of the Earth from the sky to the ground to the seas, Adam had to be able to access them and remember. Our fantasy Superman’s abilities paled in the light of Adam’s created abilities. Adam had perfect memory, perfect pitch, perfect sight, hearing and perfect Love forever. He had to have the capacity to relate and know everyone of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren etc. forever as well as all of creation on Earth. Adam and Eve would never forget an anniversary nor a birthday of anyone forever. Adam was created to Love as Father Loves all of His creation on Earth, as a physical/spiritual representation of pure Love selflessly. Adam was perfectly selfless and others aware. It’s doubtful that he was even self aware. There were no mirrors on Earth, just Father’s beautiful, symbiotic creation existing harmonious together each for the other’s benefit. Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed since they were not self aware. They were innocent. There was no pain, nor death, nor need on Earth by Father’s design nor would there ever be. Father had provided for all creation everything they ever needed, provided by each other freely with joy. This was the beginning.

Adam and Eve were created in Father’s image. That means, in part, that they have the ability to choose to Love or not, to help or not, to serve or not, to obey Father’s instructions or not. Giving man the ability to choose was a requirement of Love. How could Love work if it was forced upon you and you were forced to return it. It would not be Love since true Love must be given freely without strings attached no matter the cost to the Lover. Anything less in not Love! There is no Self in true Love. This is the Love of God.

The Scriptures do not give us a time from the Creation to the Temptation and Fall. The only thing we know is that Father had planted a Garden (from seed) and it had begun to bear fruit. That means the time was at least in years of time. So Adam and Eve had walked with and learned from their Creator daily for years before the Fall. Adam and Eve were instructed that they could eat the fruit of the plants on Earth including the Tree of Life with the exception of Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. If they did then they would die. They knew Good because they walked and talked with Good everyday (only God is Good). They did not know evil, they were innocent. The implication of this is that to know evil is to die. Father had no intention to expose Adam and Eve and His Creation to Evil and Death. He had told them to choose Life, Himself, not an alternative source of knowledge. Lucifer, a fallen Archangel, came to Eve and tempted her to eat of the Tree by telling her that God was a liar by changing Father’s definitions of the words He had spoken. She chose to believe that Lie and eat. She could have sought out Adam or Father and asked for clarification. She did not, but saw that the fruit was pretty, smelled good and was good for knowledge. In her defense she never had in her life so far seen nor experienced anything dying, only everything flourishing with Life. She took the fruit to Adam (disobedience never wants to be alone) and offered to him as well. He, too, could have sought out Father for clarification, but he chose to follow his wife. The result was Satan gained control over them, the Earth and all of its creatures through disobedience, fear and death.

After they ate they became self-aware. They also became death aware, hence, self-preservation kicked in. Their innocence vanished and staying alive became their motivator. They became aware that they were on their own, they had lost the relationship with Father that brought them Love, Life and Peace. Their source of carefree provision was gone. Not just for them but for all creation on Earth. They lost the right to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life, and to dwell in the Garden. Harmony and symbiosis gradually disappeared. Nature, who was innocent, turn its back on them. While there was no fear in the Garden, now fear lurked around every corner. They now had the knowledge of Evil and now knew the difference between Good and Evil but their default inclination was to be drawn to self-centeredness for their own preservation at the expense of the others in creation.

In our current state we are born innocent but we become self-aware soon. We have built-in self-preservation, an instinct for survival, which we tend to call survival of the fittest. The idea of all life thriving before our own is far from us because the Love from God is not in us. Since the Fall we have adopted the concept of limited resources and thus competition for survival by accumulating as many resources as possible. This is a direct result of our disconnect from our infinite Father who Loves us more than He loves Himself, and can create resources out of thin air if needed. He has been lost to us due to our self-awareness replacing other awareness and God awareness.

Of course it doesn’t help that we have Lucifer/Satan telling us that he alone is god and the God, Yahweh, who created us does not exist (any other god is fine). You see Satan hates Yahweh, his creator, because he, Lucifer, was removed from Heaven because of his pride and man was given authority over the Earth when Satan had already claimed it. Satan, the father of Lies, hates mankind and all of God’s creation and will do everything in his power to destroy that creation especially mankind. He is the master of deception and impersonation, and he successfully deceived Adam and Eve in their pure state how much easier is it for him to deceive us in our fallen state?

Fortunately, Father had created Adam with a guiding light in his heart. That was a simple question: Does anyone Love me more than they Love themselves? That question points north and motivates our search for someone, anyone that will love us. We often get a taste of that kind of love from our mothers early on and our fathers later. But we find that even the spouses that we select have limits where we find that they love themselves more than they love us, just like we do. So the search goes on.

Father, because of His love for His creation, had a backup plan to save mankind. He had lost His first son and daughter to bad choices. So being a Loving Father He had devised a plan to restore mankind to their pre-Fall state. He needed someone who was innocent, not born into our self-centered state, who would be willing to bear all of the sins of all of mankind and carryout the physical and spiritual death sentence for all of mankind out of Love for his Father. There was no man or woman on Earth born naturally who were qualified, nor could there be. It had to be a supernatural birth. This one would have to a male since Adam was the first human. This one would have to be human but born without the sin nature and have to be divine (as Adam was before the Fall). This one would be Father’s First Born (of woman) Son. He would have to go through His live on Earth without ever making a self-centered choice, but always choosing Father’s will and as a human never giving in to Satan’s lies and deceptions. If this Son could pull this off then Father would have a way to regain His relationship with His children and save them from spiritual death and restore them to eternal Life. If He were to come too close to one of His fallen children the power of His glory would be fatal for the child. So he stands a far off.

Gabriel was sent to a teenage virgin who had kept the Law from birth, to announce to her that she was Yahweh’s choice to bear this child. She was to name Him “Yahweh Saves” or Yeshua in her language. The Spirit of God would come upon her and she would conceive a son without being touched by a man so that the previous requirements could be fulfilled. This Child would be fully man and fully God and had to fulfill Father’s most pressing mission. He wants His kids back, all of them, but Love and free will demands that they must choose! So the invasion of Earth, the rescue of man, began with that birth in Bethlehem. This Son of God became the second Adam.

So yes we do need a Savior so that we too can be restored to Adam’s state before the Fall to live forever in relationship with our Loving Father.

Once we’ve accepted the Son, He then comes and dwells within us and we with Him. This opens the door to Father so that we can walk with Him and learn from Him as Adam did in the Garden. Without the Son we would be in danger if Father came near because of our fallen state and His power. It would be like hitting tissue paper with a napalm bomb. We would not survive. He is the energy source that created the entire Universe. So He hides Himself from us so as not to harm us. Once we are in the Son, the Son shields us from Father’s infinite energy and we can some close to Him and communicate with Him, relationship restored! Without the Son, in our fallen state, we can communicate with any others that are also fallen, men and angels without risk of physical damage (but not deception). The Son opens the door to the Kingdom of God (Yahweh’s Spiritual Realm) and Heaven. Therefore, we do not have to go through intermediaries, neither men nor angels to communicate with our Father. The Father teaches us and transforms us back to Adam, pre-Fall, over time as we grow in experience with Him and faith in Him. In His presence we find Peace, Love, Joy, provision, kindness, security, authority over evil, diseases etc. This is what we were born for. Blessed are they who receive and serve the Father and the Son! Do not be tricked, neither man nor angels cannot save man, it takes our Creator to do that.
