Regarding your idea that term limits remove required expertise, that seniority develops some kind of expertise that is required in the House or Senate, I respect your opinion but would like you to offer some further ideas.
1. If Bills are required to be simplified and not linked to each other in packages and log-rolled mish-mashes, which is another (IMO) needed reform, why do we need this level of expertise? I debated even in High School some very apt minds, and it would seem also that if there were not elites ensconced in the House and Senate that we have a resource of apt replacements. I think the reason we see a lack of talent at times (or even generally) is because of the campaign funding interference from monied interests, which I offered a means to eliminate through “October madness” funded by government.
2. What do you offer as an alternative means to remove self-interest from legislators? Once they are older they have assets, everyone needs them if they hope to retire. In my book (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HCzGbI8-LJGIhffft5SptEtD0P19D2q6/view) I quote a passage from a historian, who makes the point that the Founding Fathers thought of those who had reached security independently as being a “disinterested class”, while the existence of a Stock Market as a source of retirement wealth was not anticipated by them and seems to elicit and perpetuate self-Interest rather than Disinterest.
I just ask you these questions, and I leave it up to you if you want to quote my questions and reply in an article, or just send me an email.
