i found this question on telegram,

I couldn’t confirm if it comes really from you, but I answer you anyway.

Question:

Why are all craters on Earth exactly at 90 degrees to the “flat” surface?

Not a single specimen ever had pitch or trajectory angle prior to impact.

If we live on a “spinning ball in space,” what is the probability that each and every “space rock” impact will hit the earth straight down, at a perfect 90-degree angle?

well, Benjamin, the answer is very simple.

you are wrong.

of course there are impact zones that are not round.

and the fact that they are not round shows, that they are then no craters, but longer zones of compacted material, looking a bit like walls.

I can show you very easily two of them, most likely the biggest (above surface)
