Gun Violence Awareness Month
Recently, I was contacted by a representative from The Recovery Village who asked me if I would make their information available to the public by placing them in our Resources section. As they are an educational center as well as a substance treatment center focusing on bringing health and peace to the world I decided also to place them in TimeLine as a separate article. Their focus now is to educate on the relationship between substance abuse and gun violence, as June is “Gun Violence Awareness Month”. Gun Violence Awareness Month
Learn about the connections that drugs and addiction have with gun violence. The Recovery Village educates people on the causes as the first step to working towards preventing them. Studies have shown a link between gun violence and substance use. Additionally, links between drinking and certain mental health problems may be associated with gun violence. Understanding the relationship between guns, drugs, drinking, and mental health will help bring an end to gun violence and create a healthier society.
