Miscellany of Some Memorable (1977-1984)
c.1977-1978, St. Petersburg & Sarasota, FL: Stayed at Don Cesar. Attended show at Golden Apple Dinner Theater.
c.1979-1980, Jupiter, FL: Took in show, think it was at Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater.
1980, Manhattan, NY: Lived Lexington Avenue between 64th and 65th streets. Shared apartment with international investment banker at JP Morgan whose boyfriend, later, when commodities trader at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, helped me organize to find work in financial services. Worked 1986-1989: Rothschild, Unterberg & Towbin (back-office Bear Stearns) and Abner, Hermman & Brock, following a stint as Accounts Payable Supervisor, Executive Enterprises: 1985-1986.
1980-12-09, Manhattan, NY: Lived East 80s, 2nd Avenue. Had a film job scheduled in apartment at Dakota Building CPW that morning. Grievous day. John Lennon had been killed there the night before. Notified filming schedule pushed back, but it wasn’t cancelled.
c.1981, Los Angeles, CA: Flew out for audition at major film studio. Only remember chatting in an office with some man there and eating lunch at the canteen.
c.1979-1984, Orlando, Miami & Key West, FL; Puerto Rico; Jamaica; Caribbean: Miscellaneous whirlwind vacations, often exhausted. Disney’s EPCOT Center, roller coaster-ed on Space Mountain. Drove from Miami to Key West. Some Caribbean trips. Mainly remember visit to Puerto Rico, Bahamas and Antigua. Especially remember Jamaica trip because, while en route, pilot announced the US had just invaded Grenada, literally just then.
Sum 1982, Manhattan, NY: Shipping Coordinator for dissemination of informational materials about AT&T Divestiture info via George Corrin Jr. Designer; and Lattif Communications (Tenafly, NJ).
1983 & 1984, Manhattan, NY: Lost two pregnancies. Had they survived, they were to be known as Jan (1983) and Erin (1984). May God keep you safe.
[Remember today: Lilian Whiting (1847-1942). Her poetry “From Dreamland Sent”, reader recordings, librivox.org. Amazing, given the time of her existence, dark side of the moon reportedly unknown. Ps. 14:1 or 53:1; Gal. 6:7, 1 Kings 1:52. Healing journey punctuated with odd times. Decades later developed penchant for Kosher Salt, especially Diamond brand (felt necessary for 2 boxes ever on hand) and baking soda, any brand (liked the big bags from Walmart). Disappointed some weren’t treated as worthy. Praying for all who went missing. If you’re out there, recovery is possible. There are still some of integrity out here. Be mindful, but never give up hope.]
