When you set out to steal an election, you do not, if you are intelligent, go to all that trouble without ensuring all the corrupt mechanisms are in place institutionally to ensure that that election remains stolen – corrupt or frightened courts, state officials etc.
Clearly this was done, but I don’t want to talk about that. I want to address how it ultimately came about and I want you to follow the argument and see where you land within the spectrum of opinion towards it: from outright disagreeing, to thinking there maybe something in it, to actually agreeing with its points …
I am going to be brief here because the more obvious a case the less patience I can summon to present it, so here we go …
The reason the country was eventually captured and taken hostage by corrupt concerns – despite the majority of the citizens being really good and decent – is because all of its legal and government systems evolved out of the Constitution, which although a princely body of work at the time and beyond noble in its aims, as the system evolved from it up until now, that same system has developed glaring chinks in its armour such that it has now become routinely easy, for any parties with sufficient incentive, to twist it into one functioning on the opposite grounds of those that the Constitution wished to protect.
That’s what has happened when the corrupt get to put in a party or body of people of their own choosing surely: the Constitution and the freedoms and protections it sought to embody has been used as toilet paper and rubbed in the face of every citizen that had faith in it. Let’s not be precious, regardless of what measures you may or may not see coming about to correct matters, something has gone clearly and desperately wrong.
Now when a soldier or anybody swears on the Constitution they are not in any sense seeing that document as scripture that should never be re-examined, they are seeing it as the best expression of the ideals and freedoms they wish to see protected and for everyone to live by and enjoy. And a natural and very important part of those freedoms would be to find an even more effective and foolproof expression of those freedoms and protections should the need arise.
Because a body of founding principles and law that doesn’t evolve and evolve quickly to meet the challenges seeking to openly undermine it is going to end up a dead dinosaur, or at least the country it seeks to embody and define its establishing principles for is.
That’s what you have when an unelected body can freely present itself as an elected one, unchallenged: a rotting carcass of a country masquerading as healthy one based on a document or body of legislation that may have served its purpose previously, but now has been substantially attacked and found very wanting.
Am I not right. Give it thought because there are those whose main fear is nothing should be done in the matter of re-evolving something new and better re the Constitution, who do not realise their main fear – which it sought to ensure did not happen – has actually come about and they are just protecting the armour that failed the corpse inside it
Imho.
Yes it is in my humble opinion, and I very much hope you have one of your own because issues of this nature lay at the heart of a healthy, functioning nation.
