I saw someone post about the latest Kim Goguen video at https://odysee.com/@SavetheWorld:3/Kim-Goguen-9-23-22:2?r=5Kod96Mt3nXebP2W5KGaxGiSmHbG8eaS

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. So the poster explained that s/he thinks Kim Goguen is really a Canadian actress named Christie Adams. I have no idea about that, but I did want to give my opinion about the content of some of what she says. Specifically, what she says about blockchain tech. My background is in computer science and math, in which I have a PhD (CS), 2 master’s degrees (CS & math), and 2 bachelor’s degrees (CS & math). I have started and sold multiple tech companies over the past few decades and am what people usually call a “serial entrepreneur” – though I am much more technical than business-savvy and have never wanted to get my hands out of the actual code. It is fairly obvious that Kim has NO idea what she is talking about in terms of blockchain technology. She repeatedly refers to “Blockchain being built by the NSA” as if it’s a specific product, application, or SDK (software developer’s kit). It’s not. It is a generic type of technology system used by most cryptocurrencies. At its core, it just means distributed ledger technology, which existed far before cryptocurrencies. Now the Bitcoin blockchain (or the ETH blockchain) is something specific, and THAT was what the NSA developed (along w/ the rest of Bitcoin, and I agree that they probably did the same with other popular cryptocurrencies like ETH). The issue I take with this is she says something along the lines of “Blockchain was created by NSA, so anything that uses blockchain should be discounted.” As I explained, this is simply not correct. I could create an app using a custom made distributed ledger that runs only on the 10 computers within my house – that is also a blockchain. Similarly, not EVERY app/piece of tech that uses a blockchain was created by NSA. Blockchains can be created entirely from scratch. There is nothing that prevents a company from using that type of tech in some app they’re creating, without having to use any pre-built code that may contain nastiness inserted by NSA. The general problem here is that Kim seems to think “Blockchain” refers to a specific piece of technology, when actually it’s a generic term. Now as I explained, the Bitcoin blockchain is something specific, and it probably was created by NSA. Maybe she meant to say “Bitcoin blockchain” – but I don’t think so – I think she just doesn’t know what she’s talking about and is counting on the fact that most people don’t have an in-depth understanding of what “blockchain” actually means.
