- First can you tell me exactly where the Bible states that there will be no more prophecy after the disciples?
1 Corinthians 13 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is [d]perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
Sorry Chap 14 was a continuation.
That which was perfect is the Gospel / New Testament. The old law passed away on the death of Christ and the new testament replaced the old / Law of Moses as it was called. After the fall of Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70.. The old testament worship could no longer be performed. The Holy Spirit gave to the apostles what Jesus said they could not handle when He was with them. After that, No more was to be revealed.
Revelations 22
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
