Inversely Proportional.
When the value of one quantity increases with respect to a decrease in the other or vice-versa, they are inversely proportional. This means that the two quantities behave opposite in nature.
x ∝ 1/y or x ∝ y-1 or “As technology increases, truth (biology) decreases.”
Without the necessity to rely on yourself (biology) as a source of truth determined with critical thinking, the need for truth lessens until a point of necessity creates an opportunity for dependency. The dependency is established with technology that distributes information. As reliance on technology increases, the dependency on critical thinking decreases.
i.e., “I trust what I see on the television more than what I see through my window. I no longer trust myself.”
Technology, particularly media, survives by capturing your attention through manipulation of the truth. (shows and programs) This capture and manipulation of your attention is detrimental to your perception of truth and reality, leading to a dependency on the technology based on a lack of truth and your inability to determine reality. Without a counterbalance provided by truth discovered through critical thinking, the media is able to manipulate your perception for its own survival, which is dependant on your captured attention. When you no longer trust yourself, you cease to exist, literally…
