AM I ALLOWED??
Am I allowed to buy a greeting card??
The ongoing lockdown is heavy and hard.
Cards are essential and so is booze.
This c---d thing gives people the blues.
Experts and authorities tell us what’s best.
They dictate orders and we acquiesce.
Am I not allowed to make my own choice?
Do I have no say? Do I have no voice?
Masks and distancing and shots in the arm.
We’re told these measures will prevent us harm.
Am I not allowed to question it all?
I once learned about a controlling cabal.
If, obediently, we do as we’re told,
We’ll be rewarded, we’ll be extolled.
That’s what government would have us think.
Will the “virus” k--l ‘til we’re all extinct?
I AM allowed to say, “No more!!”,
Because I’m fed up to the core!!
“It’s easier to fool people…”, said Mark Twain,
“Than convince them they’re fooled.” O the pain!
It’s pain that comes from being awake,
From learning the truth, learning what’s fake.
Too many eyes are still closed tight;
But soon they’ll awaken to the light.
For LIGHT will always dispel the dark,
And TRUTH will always leave its mark.
May we all allow our light to shine
As we march toward FREEDOM—yours and mine.
