Trump Drops UFO File Flood: Cover-Up Cracking Wide Open or More of the Same?
Over the last five years, UAP/UFO disclosure has shifted from total denial and stigma to institutional acknowledgment of real anomalies, driven by Navy videos, the 2021 ODNI preliminary assessment (most cases unexplained), the creation of AARO, the 2023 Grusch hearing on alleged crash-retrieval programs, and successive NDAA provisions for records collection and whistleblower protections.
Multiple congressional hearings followed, with bipartisan pressure from figures like Luna, Burchett, and Burlison.
The real acceleration came in 2026: after a February Trump directive (prompted by Obama’s “they’re real” podcast comments, which Trump framed as revealing classified info), the Department of War launched PURSUE and released successive batches of hundreds of files, documents, videos, audio, from Blue Book-era cases through recent military/intel encounters (orbs, triangles, etc.).
AARO’s reports still attribute resolved cases to prosaic explanations (satellites, flares, birds, drones) while leaving many unresolved; no official confirmation of non-human technology or beings has been issued.
Whistleblowers continue claiming more is hidden; a science advisory council chaired by Avi Loeb is now reviewing the data.
The immediate trigger was Trump’s directive citing “tremendous interest” and the Obama episode, layered on years of congressional and public pressure.
It’s a managed, rolling release of mostly historical or sensor data that doesn’t settle the ET question, transparent enough to respond to demand and legislation, controlled enough to avoid confirming extraordinary claims.
