Can this go on for other cases and/or has it been going on in previous ones where the government wants to keep some stolen merchandise and not just have a lawful auction when they don’t lawfully find the owner?
In this video the Sheriff, the prosecutor and a judge all ruled that they do not have to make a good faith effort to find the owner of this ‘Man’s Stolen 4-Wheeler’ and give it back to him once the owner informs them of it.
The Sheriff informs them that taxpayer dollars were used in the betterment of the 4-Wheeler and thus it cannot belong to the previous owner as it now belongs to the Sheriff’s Department.
If this is the reason of the ‘taxpayer dollars were used’ for them to keep it then them receiving any ‘taxpayer dollars’ in their rightful work cannot be then the reason for the criminals to be the thieves for the government and only the criminals go to prison if caught.

It has taken about six years for this owner to find out that the Sheriff’s Department has his 4-Wheeler and now they will not return it lawfully and the man is suing the Sheriff’s Department for their violating the law.
