THEY JUST GREENLIT A FISSION SHIP TO MARS
August 28, 2026 at Johnson Space Center: Trump said NASA’s Space Reactor-1 Freedom launches in 2028 as the first nuclear electric interplanetary craft.
He framed it as the opening hull of an American “star fleet,” awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the Artemis II crew, and signed the Space Academy order the same afternoon.
Nuclear-electric propulsion is the first U.S. attempt at long duration power that doesn’t live or die by solar panels or chemical tanks.
UAP reports have described craft that loiter, accelerate, and ignore fuel constraints for decades. A compact reactor on a boom is the closest official analog we have put on a calendar.
If something already operates that way in our atmosphere, 2028 is when we stop pretending chemical rockets are the only language in the sky.
Is Freedom a science demo… or the first public handshake with whatever has been running silent out there?
