Nothing Left to Resist
By Reset Intelligence | @EXIT_FIAT
On Wednesday, both governments confirmed it in the same news cycle: the US-led coalition mission in Iraq ends September 30, and October 1 opens what Baghdad calls a new phase of full national sovereignty.
The same week, Tehran’s top general flew into Baghdad unannounced to tell the armed factions not to hand over their weapons yet. Read those two moves together and you have the whole story.
The Date Is Signed on Both Sides
Prime Minister al-Zaidi told the CENTCOM commander to his face that September 30 is “final and irreversible.” Hours later a US official confirmed the pullout is on track. After 23 years, the arrangement that broke Iraq’s currency and pinned it at a number set under military authority now has 48 days left on its own paperwork.
The Refusal Belongs to Tehran
Iraq’s armed groups call themselves the Islamic Resistance. Their whole claim to exist is resistance to a foreign military presence, and that presence just got a confirmed departure date. Several major factions have already announced their arsenals go to the state. Three have refused, and the instruction to refuse arrived by courier from Tehran. You do not send your most senior general to argue for delay unless the deadline is real.
Baghdad Is Rehearsing Sovereignty
• Air defense – al-Zaidi inspected the Air Defense Command and ordered maximum readiness across all camps and bases ahead of the transition.
• Riyadh – Iraq’s four most senior security officials flew to Saudi Arabia on Thursday over the drones file.
• The money meter – the Kurdistan Region cannot transfer its agreed 120 billion dinars in monthly non-oil revenue, roughly $92 million, for the 3rd month running. Bank deposits nationwide have fallen for 3 straight months while the state borrows from its own banks to cover wages.
• The rails – the SEC votes Friday on its first formal crypto rulemaking of the Atkins era, building whether Congress moves or not.
That is the short version, and it is the public half. What it means for the dinar, the order the chain runs in, and what to watch next is the daily analysis we publish every morning.
