Reset Intelligence: Everything Points to August

The United States and Iran sat back down at the table Monday, and the stated perimeter of the deal includes the immediate, complete and total opening of the Hormuz Strait.
And while the world watched that post, Iraq quietly signed its oil past Iran’s chokepoint and the loudest date in the file became August 15.
The weekend the calendars agreed
On Sunday the White House account posted a statement from President Trump that has now been seen more than 2.3 million times. Locked and loaded against the Islamic Republic, at levels not seen since World War 2, and holding off because the perimeters of a deal have been agreed. The first item named: the opening of the Hormuz Strait. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Iran itself asked him to hold. Talks resumed Monday with no deadline attached.
That post alone would make the week. It is nowhere near the whole story. Across the same 48 hours:
• Ceyhan signature – Iraq and Turkey signed a 1-year agreement on August 1: 750,000 barrels per day through the northern route, with both governments targeting above 1 million once the expansion line is complete. Iraq no longer waits on the strait.
• Baghdad polices its own soil – Prime Minister al-Zaidi chaired an emergency security meeting on August 1 and ordered that no attack on any neighbor launches from Iraqi territory. Jordan had just become the first Arab state to publicly threaten strikes on militias inside Iraq.
• The exit runs early – the Patriot batteries at Erbil have been pulled and the bulk of US forces are already gone, roughly 2 months ahead of the September 30 withdrawal deadline.
• The reserve numbers – CBI data shows reserves at $93.7 billion at the end of May, with gold holdings flat at 174.6 tons and up 5.7 percent in value. There is a right way and a wrong way to read that, and the wrong way is everywhere.
• August 15 – insider channels are circulating a claim that Washington wants Baghdad’s cabinet completed by mid-month. We label it what it is, a rumor with no official record. It is also a rumor with a shape.
Each of these stories carries its own calendar. This month, for the first time since the war started, the calendars agree. That is the short version. How the talks, the strait, the withdrawal, the cabinet chairs and the dinar’s own timeline connect, in what order, and what August 15 has to do with a Sunday night in 1971, is in today’s full briefing.
