Was the 2003 Iraq Invasion Really About Securing Earth’s First City and Its NHI Secrets?
In an episode of Jesse Michels’ American Alchemy podcast, researcher Matt LaCroix highlighted Eridu, located in modern-day southern Iraq near Basra, as the legendary first city on Earth according to the ancient Sumerian King List.
Sumerian texts describe kingship descending from heaven there before a great flood, positioning Eridu as the cradle of civilization in Mesopotamia.
Official accounts of the March 2003 U.S.-led invasion cite weapons of mass destruction concerns and post-9/11 security threats, yet the war coincided with widespread looting of Iraq’s archaeological treasures, including Mesopotamian sites, while some Pentagon meetings beforehand addressed protecting cultural heritage in the “cradle of civilization.”
Speculation has long swirled that strategic interest extended beyond oil or regime change to controlling ancient knowledge hubs. Eridu’s remote desert location and mythic status as the place where divine order first manifested invite questions about what residual “secrets” might still lie buried amid its temple ruins and virgin sands.
Eridu features heavily in interpretations of Anunnaki lore where beings from the heavens (reimagined by some as advanced NHI visitors) founded the city and interacted with early humans, as popularized in alternative readings of Sumerian tablets.
Could the 2003 operation have been a quiet bid to secure potential portals, artifacts, or underground Abzu-linked anomalies tied to ongoing UAP phenomena?
