$60 Billion at the Table

The President took 25 minutes of primetime last night to declassify 4 intelligence files on American election infrastructure. He named China. He named Maduro’s Venezuela. He asked 4 federal agencies to weigh criminal charges against the people who write his own daily brief.
He never said the word money. Across town, with no cameras on it, $60 billion went on a table.
What Was Actually In The Speech
Trump quoted an internal email in which intelligence staff admitted they had, in his words, “deliberately massaged the presidential daily briefing to withhold information regarding Chinese activities related to the election.” He then called on the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Justice, the FBI and the CIA to investigate and, if appropriate, fire and press criminal charges against those responsible.
No gold. No dollar. No Treasury. No mention of the stablecoin rulebook the Fed has to publish on Saturday. 25 minutes on foreign powers inside American systems, and the financial half of that sentence never arrived.
The Room With No Cameras In It
While that ran, Iraq’s prime minister was due on stage at the US Chamber of Commerce with Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Organizers planned to put roughly $60 billion of commercial agreements between American companies and Iraq on the record.
• The sponsors – GE Vernova, BP, ExxonMobil, Shell, Excelerate Energy. Energy leads, and it runs out into telecoms, digital infrastructure, healthcare and agriculture.
• Who holds the pen – al-Zaidi does not sign. The agenda has him observing while the companies sign. These are contracts between American firms and Iraqi counterparties, not a treaty between 2 governments.
• The routes – Iraq’s cabinet authorised Basra Oil Company to sign with TI Capital, Chevron and Qatar’s UCC. Read the small print: it is a memorandum of understanding plus feasibility studies across 3 candidate routes, no financial obligation. Kirkuk-Baniyas carried 300,000 barrels a day at its peak. Rebuilding its 800 kilometres runs $4.5 billion to $8 billion.
• The blockade – the first ran 13 April to 18 June: CENTCOM redirected 140-plus compliant vessels, disabled 9, waved 50-plus humanitarian sailings through. It went back on 14 July. A Curacao-flagged tanker took Hellfire missiles down its smokestack on the 15th running for Kharg Island.

• Treasury – sb0562 put 50-plus vessels, entities and people from the Shamkhani shipping network on the list, carrying it past 200 designations. sb0564 hit weapons procurement a day later.
• Baghdad’s own house – investigators pulled 25 billion dinars, $200,000 in American cash and 4 kilograms of gold jewellery from hideouts tied to a detained former deputy oil minister, taking that case past $24 million and 127 billion dinars.
• The street – the dollar eased to 153,750 per 100, down from 154,500.
That Is The Short Version
Those are the moves. They are public, and by tonight everyone will have them.
What they are not is the story. Why a country begging back into the dollar system opens with commerce instead of currency has a 52-year-old answer. Why a President spends primetime on voter rolls and never mentions the money has a precedent from Milan in 1992 that ended a republic.
