Thomas Anderson: Flat Earth or Bigger Earth?

Dear readers,

As you may remember, last year I took some pictures at the german lake of Constance and wondered, why I could see the beach in a distance of 40 km which, according to the actual science should not be possible due to the Earths curvature.

In my article back then I showed the calculations of the scientists, telling, that I should only be able to see everything higher than around 200 meters.

But definitely not the beach.

However.. I took those pictures and still don’t have any explanation.

Making a picture with a camera from a distance of 40km with MY camera didn’t give a really exact picture of every sand corn at the beach, so I could not really tell, whether perhaps the beach was 1meter higher for example  or not.

So I could not really guarantee, that the view line was exactly horizontal.

So I calculated, also in that article, and made some estimations, with which radius of the Earth this picture I took back then, would still be explainable.

After doing some maths, I estimated, that the official radius of the Earth (6370km) didn’t give me an explanation for the pictures I took.

But with a radius of around 100.000km,(so: more than 10 times more), it could be at least seem quite ok.

However…

I learned that the earth is round and all scientific data and the mathematical and physical model is based on some very basic assumptions and mong those is the radius of 6370km.

When you search on the net and youtube for spacewalks of NASA, you always find clear picture and videos, showing the Earth is round.

No matter on which link you click, you will not find any different information.

So all seems ok.

Even all videos are ok on youtube. you always see the round Earth.

So, where is the problem?

Well…

Search for Chinese space walks.

Here you get a different picture.

The Earth seems to be much more flat – or FLAT at all.

Only on a few western media the pictures again show a round Earth and I also found videos showing the Earth round in Chinese videos but taking a closer look at the video gave me a smile.

Please take a look at the first picture. it shows the chines space station with its solar panels and those solar panels are clearly not straight, but form a curve. This can be an effect of the lens you use on the camera – or an effect when doing some photoshop.

As you can clearly see on the picture, the Earth is round.

However…

When you open this picture in photoshop and try to reverse the effect and form the solar panels back into a normal straight form

Which we all know very well and solar panels are always produced in that straight, rectangular form, you see that automatically the Earth… appears to be quite flat….

So flat, that again, I could not tell if it would be really flat, or “only” had a much larger radius (100.000km?)
