GOVERNMENT INSIDERS EXPOSED: THE 1966 POLICE UFO CHASE THAT SHATTERED PROJECT BLUE BOOK!
In his groundbreaking 1972 book The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry, astronomer J. Allen Hynek, former scientific advisor to the U.S. Air Force’s Project Blue Book (1947–1969), dropped bombshell revelations about real Close Encounters that officials tried to bury.
The standout case? The Portage County UFO Chase on April 17, 1966, near Ravenna, Ohio. Around 5 AM, Deputy Sheriff Dale Spaur and Officer Wilbur Neff spotted a massive, bright, disc-shaped object hovering above trees.
It emitted a humming sound and intense light from its underside. The officers pursued it at speeds up to 100+ mph for ~85 miles across Ohio into Pennsylvania, joined by other law enforcement. The craft reportedly descended as low as 50 feet at times.
Hynek called it a “fine example” of a Close Encounter of the First Kind in his new classification system (which inspired Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind).
Blue Book absurdly dismissed it as chasing a satellite then Venus, a claim the officers and Hynek vehemently rejected.
This tied into a wave of 1960s sightings that fueled Hynek’s break from official denial.
Fast-forward: Modern UAP hearings echo these same patterns of government obfuscation. Are we on the brink of full disclosure about non-human intelligence visiting (or already here)?
