Who should possess the authority to create, define, regulate, and distribute money – and what mechanisms should exist to ensure that authority remains accountable to the people it serves?
This question has shaped empires, revolutions, financial crises, and monetary reforms for thousands of years, and remains one of the defining questions of the 21st century.
The danger arises when monetary power becomes concentrated, opaque, and unaccountable.
Throughout history, governments, monarchies, banks, central banks, merchant guilds, and private financial interests have all, at different times, abused monetary systems for power, extraction and political advantage.
The rules governing value exchange should be transparent, consistent, verifiable, and applied equally to all participants.
This is why debates over:
Gold standards,
Fiat currencies,
Central banking,
Public debt,
Honest weights and measures,
Sound money,
Digital currencies,
Distributed ledgers,
have always been debates about far more than economics. They are debates about power, trust, sovereignty, and human freedom.
Our civilization’s value architecture has been built atop a London cartel’s “world reserve currency” that has been weighed, measured and found wanting. It is being eliminated for its systemic corruption without limits.
