THE DOJ IS NOW 174 DAYS PAST THE LEGAL DEADLINE FOR THE FULL RELEASE OF THE EPSTEIN FILES
President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act (H.R. 4405) on November 19, 2025.
Under the law, the Department of Justice was required to publish all unclassified documents within 30 days – by December 19, 2025 – including investigations, FBI materials, correspondence, and more.
The December 19 deadline passed. At first, the DOJ released only a small, heavily redacted portion. This sparked strong criticism from both sides – Republicans and Democrats alike.
The main bulk release (more than 3 million pages plus thousands of videos and photos) was not published until January 30, 2026. The DOJ stated: “This is full compliance with the law” – totaling about 3.5 million pages out of a potential 6+ million responsive documents.
As of June 11, 2026 – exactly 174 days past the deadline.
The DOJ officially maintains that it has fully complied (according to its January 30 press release and reports submitted to Congress).
But critics (members of Congress from both parties, including Ro Khanna, civil rights advocates, and the media) argue that this is not a complete release. Significant volumes remain unreleased, heavy redactions are still in place, and some files have yet to be published.

There is even an investigation by the DOJ Inspector General, launched in April 2026.
The deadline was missed, and full transparency as required by the law has still not been achieved.
Formally, “something was released,” but in substance, the law’s demand for maximum transparency remains unfulfilled.
America deserves the full truth without redactions.
