A 16th-century engineer visited the future?

In 1961, in the archives of the Romanian city of Sibiu, an incredible manuscript was discovered – 450 pages written in old German, filled with drawings, formulas, and ideas that look like they were sketched by someone from the 20th century.

The author was Conrad Haas (1509-1576) – an Austrian military engineer who was invited in 1551 to Transylvania to head the arsenal in Hermannstadt (modern Sibiu).

For over 25 years, he worked on a treatise on rocket technology – and created a true prophecy.

Haas described in detail:

• Three-stage rockets – exactly like modern launch vehicles
• Delta-shaped stabilizers (fins)
• Bell-shaped nozzles
• Cylindrical combustion chambers with a conical opening to increase thrust
• Concepts of liquid fuel and the principles of multistage flight

All of this – 400 years before Goddard, Tsiolkovsky, Korolev, and von Braun.

He literally drew how a rocket “should fly upward by itself” (“Wie du ein gar schönen Rocketen machen sollst, der in die Höhe steigt selbst”).

The manuscript was only found in the 1960s. Romania proudly declared: here is our first rocket scientist.

Haas even warned about the dangers of military use of rockets and dreamed of peaceful purposes.

A true Renaissance man who was thinking about space while others were still fighting with halberds.

This is not fantasy or an anomaly. It’s the work of a genius who was centuries ahead of his time.

One engineer in a quiet Transylvanian city took a quill, ink, and mathematics – and saw what we only launched in the 20th century.

Sometimes history gives us discoveries that send shivers down your spine.

As if someone from the past looked into our sky and said:
