A young courier driver has been delivering in our street for several years. He’s a regular visitor to my house. This morning he dropped off a parcel. He looked down at the parcel as usual as I signed for it then headed straight to his van.
On impulse, I called out. ‘Excuse me…’ He came back. ‘It would make a huge difference if you made eye contact with your customers – looked us in the eye and smiled…’ He was taken aback. He looked me straight in the eye and smiled. Who knows the ripple effect of that one small action.

Finally, speaking of ripple effects…yesterday’s comment section included comments from people who said they don’t know what to say in the comments anymore so they don’t comment as often.
