The reason the shutting down of the Strait of Hormuz did not create an immediate crisis was because it takes seven weeks from the time that the oil tankers pass the Strait to arrive at the United States so for seven weeks it appears that there is no problem. Those seven weeks are up and we are going to see a catastrophe arrive as the daily missing oil production of 20 million barrels a day hits the market. Over the last seven weeks it adds up to 980 million barrels missing that will continue to increase with each passing day driving the oil price to $700.00 a barrel. This will cause the collapse of the 2.3 quadrillion in derivatives into a kind of chain reaction as happens in the detonation of a hydrogen bomb to use Warren Buffett’s metaphor. This opinion was conveyed to me by a Goldman Sachs derivative specialist at a conference that I attended. He was responding to my question in front of an audience of about three hundred people.
Let me repeat this point as it is so important. Goldman Sachs derivative experts calculate the loss of 20% of the world oil supply at the Strait of Hormuz blockage would result in the oil price rising to $700.00 a barrel which would crash the world economy triggering the implosion of the 2.3 quadrillion derivative market not dissimilar to the 1930 collapse of the Kreditansalt of Baron Alfonse von Rothschild that triggered the collapse of the German economy raising the unemployment level to 50%. This led to revolution. Warren Buffett has always regarded the derivative exposure as dangerous. These derivative calculations are derived by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) who reduced this 2.3 quadrillion figure to 846 trillion on no honest basis at all and 2.3 quadrillion is the right figure.
Either figure is fatal in this scenario. Warren characterized derivatives as “financial weapons of mass destruction,” arguing that their complex, opaque, and highly leveraged nature creates systemic risks as dangerous “time bombs” that materialize during periods of market stress.
It just so happens that Genoil process that increases the production of each barrel of oil 66% by converting the residue of 40% in WTI and Brent oil can solve this problem within thirty to sixty days. We would convert the refineries to achieve this enhanced return. We also address below in footnote one the sale of hydrogen bombs and ICBMs by North Korea to Iran that can knock out New York City, Washington, D. C. and Miami and whose explosion will cause to crash the entire communication system of the United States.
