This afternoon I was sitting in a tyre shop waiting room waiting for new tyres to be fitted to my car. They had thoughtfully provided womens mags. I was very happy to see a full photo feature on Melania Trump which I thoroughly enjoyed. She is so classy.

But then there was the rest of the mindless stuff about ‘celebrities’. Fifteen years ago I used to relax reading these magazines. I cannot believe it now, looking back. I forgive myself for not knowing any better. Today I know too much – I would not have picked up the mag today if not for Melania on the cover.
