Why Prioritize Biblical Studies in K-12?

Mathematics is the disciplined study of order, meaning, and non-contradiction.

Scripture – when handled rightly – is the disciplined study of order, meaning, and non-contradiction at the level of moral law, human nature, history, and ultimate reality.

The “Why?” is not to “make schools religious.”

The “Why?” Is to restore literacy in the deepest operating system of reality – so students can reason, discern, and live coherently.

Why This Matters To Mankind

1) Because a “word-based universe” demands word-level integrity

The modern world benefits from the assumption that reality is intelligible – that mind can meet world through reason – yet often wants to sever intelligibility from God. The universe is deeply describable through a specialized language (mathematics), and this “word-based” character points to rational grounding beyond matter.

Translation for education:
If schools celebrate rational order in physics and math, but dismiss rational order in Scripture as “non-academic,” they’re training students in an incoherent double standard:

  • Logic is honored in numbers
  • Logic is mocked in meaning

2) Because Scripture is not “vibes” – it’s an integrated argument across time

Biblical books (especially Luke – Acts and the epistles) are not random religious aphorisms; they are structured reasoning – claims, evidence, inference, implication – intended to be followed and tested. The Bible can be examined with rigor and answered with rigor.

Translation for education:
Biblical literacy is not merely moral formation; it is training in:

  • reading a complex text with internal structure
  • tracking argument and narrative causality
  • distinguishing claim vs proof vs interpretation
  • integrating ethics with reality (not separating them)

That is academic skill, not “church skill.”

3) Because confusion is not a fruit of truth – clarity is

A modern plague is people quote isolated verses like fortune cookies, then wonder why Christianity feels contradictory. In contrast, triangulating Scripture for balanced and clear understanding, because the Bible is followable and meant to be understood, is profoundly valuable.

Translation for education:
If students can be taught to triangulate sources in history class, they can be taught to triangulate passages, genres, covenants, and contexts in Scripture – without indoctrination – just honest literacy.

Biblical illiteracy isn’t just “people don’t go to church.”

It produces a civilization that:

  • loses its moral grammar
    (good/evil become preferences)
  • loses its anthropological anchor
    (what a human is)
  • loses its standard of justice
    (law becomes power)
  • loses discernment
    (propaganda replaces wisdom)

A society can be technically brilliant and spiritually illiterate – and that mismatch is how “high IQ pathocracy” becomes normal.

The essential “Why?” in one sentence

When Scripture is treated as non-rational, students are trained to split reality into “facts (math/science)” and “meaning (opinions),” and that fracture eventually collapses personal integrity, civic trust, and justice.

Considering the utterly meaningless, grossly superficial and mind-rotting “groupthink” flavors of academia “imperatives” that come and go like the wind, our failure to include biblical literacy is a cultural felony of the highest order.
