We have all come across the more mind-stretching stuff on web, and after we have suitably expanded the possibility parameters of our mind, we put it straight into The More Mind Stretching Stuff On The Web File with the rest of its ilk, and go about our day.

I thought I would share this particular piece not just because it is a worthy candidate for the file, but because it brings up the topic of Non Player Characters and I wanted to share some thoughts on that topic.
To be honest I do not automatically take to the idea and it certainly won’t be occupying any part of my everyday mindset toward the world for this reason: I don’t want to entertain any idea that threatens in any way to lessen what compassion and concern I have for the difficulties, challenges and pains that others may be going through.
As far as I am concerned we are all beautiful human beings deserving of all the sympathy, help and concern one human being can offer another.
Not that I am closed minded, simply that being a participant of this earth tribe we call humanity, you have to evaluate every idea for its possible effect and where it might take you in your consciousness, with the overall purpose being to widen the capacity of the heart so you are a better person going out than you were coming in – or at the very least not to impair or confuse that capacity in any way.

It may be true, that such entities exist, who knows, but as an idea, because of its implications, it is going to have to have come to the table with a lot more hard credentials than a few lines of data on the net to be taken seriously.
Now, here’s a funny thing …
I am in the bathroom caught up in the usual bathroom things when the thought occurred to me: what if I am a Non Player Character?
That certainly gave me an instant chuckle and then the follow up thought came: well, an instant chuckle is probably the automatic response of an NPC to that thought! And that gave me another one.
You can see there is a possibility of opening up a path of ever diminishing fun by reflecting in such a spiral.
Now, I did want to keep this light but there is one last thought, one last fear this topic raises and I do want it shared.
A key concept in persuading otherwise good, but due to the pressure of life, open to persuasion people to commit harm in terrible ways against their fellow human beings, or to simply accept that harm as of no consequence, is to create a climate of subtle fear and de-humanize those projected victims.

How far back in history … and … do I have to finish that thought … Surely not. But we have all collectively learned from seeing the harm such propaganda can bring about – haven’t we.
Well, that is all I have on the topic. I have to say I really enjoy the more mind-stretching data on the web: to travel in the spaceship of the mind while new realms and possibilities slide past the window portal (great stuff, what an age we live in, never mind where we are going!) but equally enjoy the descent to earth afterwards.
