It must first be said that what we want is not always what the Universe wants for us; that what we are given may not be what we prefer and work for. We may not understand why, but we have no choice than to go with it and allow it to change us, trusting that life wants to filter out of us the wrong beliefs and feelings we have about ourselves and the world, those that are other than loving and wholesome, so that we eventually can have what we really want. It is not trying to punish us; it is trying to bring us Home.
As that happens, more and more good becomes possible in our lives because our personality is no longer in conflict with our Spirit – they merge as One, so that ‘my will is Thine.’

The Foundation of Creation Is Persistent Love
Love is the foundation of the Universe.
Love in action is comprised of three functions of the lifeforce in our bodies that underlie everything. What it takes to get things moving in a direction we’d like to go is a decision to cooperate with what Life does naturally. After that, it’s just details. By its nature, life calls us to these three things:

To Relax, To Breathe, To Feel Good
To give ourselves what we really want we must ask,
“Am I really willing to feel good?”
Relaxation is the gateway of all good things, whether the healing of the physical or the manifesting of a home.
When we relax, we automatically breathe better. When we breathe better, we feel better physically and we feel better about ourselves. We radiate a clean, clear, high vibrational frequency to the Universe that creates matching experiences for us. Breathing and relaxing are the primary support of our being here.
Lifeforce would naturally flow freely if we did not do anything to block it. That’s why examining and releasing what blocks us is essential. When we relax, breathe and feel good we allow lifeforce to flow and are more completely connected to the Source of all things which creates for us.
If we already understood and practiced these three simple things, we would have it made. But, for all of us, there are some things in the way, hence…

Creatures fly when they take themselves lightly.
Allowing and Willingness – Being Relaxed About Results
Being calm and stable, allowing things to be as they are, stopping resisting what we don’t like, or in any way trying to change what is is central to the process of creation. Be like water and things will flow. Be like stone and nothing will grow.
Willingness opens the Way. The willingness to cooperate with things we don’t necessarily want to do can create new, previously unimagined possibilities. It can open paths beyond what seems to be in the way. This does not mean we absolutely have to do things we don’t want to do; it just means not resisting them – not judging, fighting against or running from them. Some people even make it to loving what they don’t like.

Lester Levenson, a great American master (1) and fantastic creator, used to say, “You have to be hootless. You can’t give a hoot whether or not you get what you want. You have to be alright either way.” This relaxed attitude keeps the ego out of the way. Externals are not the source of our happiness and they are not in the way of it. What creates for us is a shift in our thinking frequency.

Love and Enjoyment – Feeling Good About Oneself
Holding the feeling-tone of positive expectation, which is necessary to create something we want, ultimately is supported by deep feelings of self-love, self-approval, and self-worth. We cannot expect good to come to us if we don’t feel good about ourselves. You know that what you want is possible; there is no question about that, because you innately deserve it. This is confidence, trust, faith – and that knowing is characterized by the feeling of enjoyment.
If on any level we are disapproving with ourselves, we automatically negate our personal power to create. Nothing can get through a wall of disapproval. This is where our greatest work lies – ultimately realizing that there is nothing wrong with us, that we are good by nature, and can have whatever we want.
“But isn’t that just ‘entitlement’?”
The entire understanding of entitlement in our society is wrong.
We are entitled to everything we need and desire simply because we exist.
We are all naturally entitled.
If this were not true, then God itself would have to justify its very existence.
The negative connotation society holds about entitlement comes from lack of self-worth and self-love, from believing that we are flawed or wrong or sinful and need to humble ourselves and prove our worth before we deserve to have what we need. And people often will come down heavily on those who do not accept this dogma. It is Garden of Eden guilt we need to get over. The concept is entirely destructive of our relationship to ourselves, to the Source, and to each other.

We are entitled to have what we need and what we desire simply because we have been put here by the Universe/God/Source as a manifestation of itself to have experience. Does God have to justify its desires to itself or anyone else? Does God have to prove its worth before it can eat well or sleep in a nice place or have a good life? Is God separate from us? This negative thinking is really the root of all evil for us.
A word now about “appreciation” and “gratitude.”
Everyone likes to toot about appreciation and gratitude. But what are they really? To appreciate just means to increase, as in ‘your investment has appreciated in value’. To be grateful actually implies a subservience to something, a ‘God’ which has granted our wish; one has somehow deserved to have what one is getting. But really, when we are clear and free, we know there is nothing separate out there to thank, and the good feeling we have when we receive something we want translates out simply as a profound enjoyment of what we have. It is a feeling of fulfillment that appreciates as we enjoy it. This understanding must now replace the old paradigm ideas of being grateful to something outside of us for giving us what we finally deserve to have through hard work.
To be enjoyful is the purest, most appreciative, most positive creative state.
So forget about appreciation and gratitude as it has been presented before. You don’t owe anyone anything. You are innocent and fine just the way you are. When you receive a gift you like, just glow with the happiness you feel and let your “Thank you” come from an expression of your enjoyment. That enjoyment is what makes it increase.

Every moment is a gift – that’s why we call it The Present.
Releasing, Forgiving, and Letting Go
The release of anything inside us that contradicts the feeling of enjoyment of having what we want is essential. Any programs that would tell us we are not worthy or in some way shouldn’t or can’t have what we desire must be released as just the thoughts, beliefs and patterns they are. This includes forgiving and letting go of actual or supposed transgressions against us; if we hold onto these, no matter how important they seem, then we are held fast to that experience in one way or another and cannot accelerate our frequency enough to rise to a higher level of lived experience. We get stuck there not because of it, but because we aren’t letting go of it.
I said earlier that when we breathe better, we automatically feel better. The only time this is not true is when we have suppressed pain in the body and the breathing brings it to the surface. At that point, keep relaxing into it, and keep breathing until the pain is fully felt and allowed to release, freeing the flow of natural energy through the body. This dissolves chronic tension patterns at their roots.
Early in life we learned to suppress pain because we thought it would k--l us if we felt it. The conclusions associated with it – “I’m no good, they don’t love me, this is a bad place…” – have to be met with awareness and energetically released from the system or they get frozen in time as p----o-electrical charges in the body and we repeat the painful memories as if they were happening now because we have not let go of them.
When these things are cleared nothing can stop what we want from being created. Then, it is just a matter of timing, which is up to the Universe, because it sees everything all at once, the relationship of all parts in wholeness, and knows exactly when to bring something into being. The Universe is very right-brain hemisphere dominant, and likes to smile a lot because it loves to create (2).

Simple How-To, Requiring Only Practice
1. Decide what you want to create and start to imagine it.

2. Feel the enjoyable feeling of it as real now. “I have it. I am enjoying it right now. It is real to me.”
3. Hold that feeling only for as long as it takes to establish it clearly as a tangible, enjoyable presence and feels good to continue playing with.
4. Let go of the picture, but hold onto the good feelings and move on to the next thing to do.
5. When doubts, fears, and worries intrude, immediately stop thinking about them and refocus optimistically, feel the feeling of Yes, it’s a done deal. Of course. I can relax in that knowing.
Or, as Lester Levenson used to say when he did this:
Everything is A-OK and taken care of!
Remember, worry goes down and feels like a cave-in; trust goes up and feels like flying. Feel the feeling of going up. Up = happy, light. Down = unhappy, heavy. Imagine what you do want, not what you don’t want. Use willpower to do this, no matter what the inertia of your emotions and thoughts say or do. Steer your car in the right direction so you get where you want to go.
If you have a specific, persistent pattern of thinking and feeling that comes up when you imagine having what you want, then do the last step over and over every time it happens and make the choice to shift from the old pattern of self-sabotaging to the new pattern of self-support. Be persistent and continuously approve of yourself.
This is why it is of supreme importance to be completely conscious of our underlying feelings about ourselves and the world as we go through the day, What is our predominant feeling tone? What we dwell on is what we radiate. It is our primary Knowing about ourselves and Life. And what we radiate is what we create in the living field of experience.
The Key of keys is remembering how to love ourselves moment to moment just the way we are, no matter what.

1. Lester Levenson suffered from severe physical ailments that put him on his deathbed at the age of 42 when doctors sent him home after his second major heart attack in 1952. Through an intensely concentrated effort, all by himself, Lester managed to root out the real cause of his problems – how he thought about himself and the world. He forgave himself and everyone in his life, realizing that the love he emanated in doing so was what he had been looking for the whole time he was trying and failing to get it from the outer world. That distress had made him deathly ill.
In doing this turn-around, he ‘miraculously’ healed himself completely in three months. He went on to be in such great shape and so enlightened of mind that he hand-built himself a house, became a millionaire in real estate, taught others how to achieve “the free state” he entered through self-reflection, and lived in perfect health until he was 82. His approach to “releasing” was carried on as The Sedona Method by one of his early students, Hale Dwoskin.
