• The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP). PSEG, under PJM’s direction, plans to build a 70-mile, 500,000-volt transmission line from Pennsylvania’s Peach Bottom nuclear plant to substations in Frederick and Baltimore Counties, ultimately feeding electricity to data centers in Northern Virginia. Costing $424 million and targeting completion by June 2027.
• The project requires access to 600 private properties, including 518 acres of prime FARMLAND.
• If landowners refuse easements, PSEG is poised to use EMINENT DONAIN, a move greenlit I just found out by a federal judge in June 2025 allowing surveys.
• The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) holds the final say, with public hearings set for November 2025.

The blackout warnings amplify PJM’s narrative that MPRP is a critical fix for Maryland’s grid strains, creating PUBLIC FEAR to pressure PSC approval of eminent domain.
