PERSONAL TESTIMONY REGARDING THE CHURCH AND
COVENANTS OF GOD IN THESE LAST DAYS
This testimony is presented from my own personal and certain knowledge and experience. It is provided, knowing that God will condemn any person who knowingly gives false or deceptive testimony relating to essential facts pertinent to His Divine Work, in these last days. God will not tolerate testimony that is designed to deceive, confuse or lead his children astray. I know that those who are currently practicing the arts of deception against the children of God in these days, except they quickly repent, will suffer terrible and eternal punishments, in the world to come. We have the written word of God as Testimony of that true fact. I am compelled to say, I know, that the above is true. I know that God is true and I also know His words are true.
I have been on this temporal world for nearly eight decades. I have, from my first decade, desired to know the truth regarding the nature and purpose, if any existed, of this life, which I came to know as mortal, temporal, or limited in time. I looked forward, knowing that this life was not intended to continue forever, to discern, if possible, where I was going. Later I even looked backward seeking to understand where I had come from. I thought if I could discover truth, regarding those two fields of knowledge, I would be able to construct a reasonable picture of what and who I am. In seeking knowledge I have found some true answers to at least some of my questions. This is proof of God’s promise, “Seek and ye shall find.”
As I progressed in my search the thought came to me, “How will I know the truth, even if I do somehow actually stumble upon it?” That question troubled me for a long time. The answer to that question was as vital as the search for truth itself.
Panning for gold could never produce any gold if you had no idea what gold looks like. I have a small cube of Iron Pyrite on my desk, that is close to the right color, but I learned that Fools Gold though it looks good, does not have any other properties in common with real gold and is worth practically nothing in comparison with real gold. There are some ideas of men that, to some, exhibit some resemblance to the Truth, but when tried, they prove to be inadequate against life’s questions and challenges.
I attended meetings in several different churches that claimed to have the truth regarding the nature and purpose of this mortal life. I read the bible, both Old and New Testaments. I read books by celebrated authors, psychologists, philosophers, scientists, novelists, even an ancient historian and one leader of a great conquering army. Most of the benefit from all that reading and study was to obtain help in adjusting to life in this world, so I could pass along in the world without being overwhelmed by the conflicts, violence, dishonesty, immorality and crude manners that surrounded me everywhere.
One day, in I think, my twenty eighth year, in a conversation with two men in my own home, something suddenly changed. For the first time in my life I had felt an impression that something I had learned from those two young men was truth. That impression caused me to look more earnestly into the things they were teaching me. They came back and taught me several times always expanding the scope of their teachings, always leaving me with the same impression, of learning truth. It has now been more than fifty years since those two young men taught me those first truths and more importantly caused me to recognize the way to discern truth. From those days I have learned far more truth than I ever expected to. Beside knowing the impression of truth I have also obtained the knowledge of how to discern error and falsehood.
I now know that this life has purpose, direction and value, not just for me, but for you as well. I know that we have a common Heavenly Father of our spirits, who truly loves every one of us and whose heart is wounded every time one of us chooses to follow after error. I know that we have a Lord and Savior who has by an infinite and eternal personal s-------e, in our behalf, already paid the price of the errors we commit and repent of.

The price paid for us by that terrible s-------e, for each one of us, has made it possible for us to look forward with more than mere hope that we will again be able to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior, who is Jesus Christ.
I have also discovered that there are certain covenants that our Father requires of us before He can welcome us forever home. I have found an organization that has been entrusted with those covenants and the holy ordinances by which we may enter into those covenants, together with the Divine Authority and Priesthood to administer them. That organization is called, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In my fifty years of serious study in the Scriptures, meditation, and prayer I have been blessed with many, “ proofs”, of the truth of what I have learned in the Church. I feel constrained not to inform you of all those proofs that I have been blessed with. The Lord would have you learn, like I did, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little, so that through your own earnest efforts, you may also come to know the Lord and by your own experience, obtain incontrovertible, undeniable proof, as I have, of the verity of those things I have set forth in this testimony.
The Lord knows that our walk will involve some wandering and error, because of the influence of the enemy that stalks all our days, but when we truly repent, turn away from our errors, and strive to get back on the path to Eternal Celestial Life, His Grace, because of His Atonement, is sufficient for our sanctification by the last day of the temporal existence of this world. The one sin that will condemn us forever, is, the one we refuse to repent of. The Lord is patiently waiting for each of us, including you and me, to repent of our errors so that he can apply the healing of His Atonement to our errors, and free us from the punishment that would otherwise belong to each of us. There are reasons for this seeming catch 22, and our Heavenly Father will help us discover those reasons when we, in humility, Ask, Seek and Knock. My hope is that this testimony will help you in in your own search for Truth. All of this is declared as my own personal true testimony in the Sacred Name of our, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
