One Life to Live – Reincarnation denies the resurrection of the body. As such reincarnation denies Heaven and Hell, and God’s Divine Plan. Reincarnation is S---n’s ultimate deceit.
- “Ideas of racial superiority and bloodlines become irrelevant when it’s understood we have all lived as every race on Earth. If you are black in this life, you were white in another life. If you are male in this life, you were female in another. If you hate one particular race, you were born into that race before.”
“Although belief in some versions of reincarnation is rooted in truths which the Catholic faith upholds—namely, that a human person is more than a body, and that the human soul is immortal[3]—such a teaching is clearly contrary to the faith, for belief in reincarnation is incompatible with belief in the resurrection of the body. As the Supplement to the Summa Theologiae explains:
The errors of the said heretics [i.e., those maintaining reincarnation] are able to be destroyed from this: that they prejudice the truth of the resurrection which is proclaimed in Sacred Scripture. For resurrection is not able to be spoken of unless the soul returns to the same body, because resurrection is rising again; it belongs to the same thing, however, to rise and to fall.
Whence the resurrection regards the body, which falls dead after death, more than it does the soul, which lives after death. And so if it were not the same body which the soul resumes, [Scripture] would not say resurrection, but rather the assumption of a new body.[4]
Given the way in which the mysteries of the faith are interconnected, it is not surprising that the denial of the resurrection of the body entails a denial of other aspects of God’s plan of salvation:
Death is the end of man’s earthly pilgrimage, of the time of grace and mercy which God offers him so as to work out his earthly life in keeping with the divine plan, and to decide his ultimate destiny. When “the single course of our earthly life” is complete, we shall not return to other earthly lives: “It is appointed for men to die once.”[5]
