Danlboon: Mars Moon Eclipse

Did you miss the Moon passing in front of Mars on Monday night when it was near a Full Moon at 13 Jan. 2:26 PM PST and it was passing at Moonrise for me when it came up at about 5:12 PM PST.

Why would you be interested, as things do happen once in a while and now maybe this is a final time that things will change for all of us that believe in things like this and relating to our Republic?

The White Hats of the Moon covering the Red Hats of Mars where they just disappear.

The Moon only came to about 99.7 % coverage of being Full. It also is traveling Southeast even though it appears to be moving West.

I did go out and check at 7:40 PM and Mars was now visible where it reappeared maybe at 7:30 PM, so it does take I think about 2 hours to pass over to be crossing the center of the Moon.

If you do live East of Albuquerque then you may have been able to see the start of the Eclipse with Mars disappearing.

It was about 2 or 3 years ago I saw them both in about the same location so that is rare I saw it twice, as well as both Saturn and Jupiter the closest they were back in December 2021.

By the way, there will be a Total Lunar Eclipse for North America on 14 Mar., 2025.

Now about 4:45 AM PST on Tuesday the 2 stars of Gemini, Mars and the Moon are about the same distance from each other in an arc, not just a straight line, and it was too light for me to see Mars setting over the hill and then the Moon setting about 20 minutes later.

Now the first photo is at 6:44 AM PST when Mars is about to set as you can still see it in the circle and the arrow is where the Moon will set.

This next one is where there is more light and better camera settings to see the dark areas of the Moon.

Earthquakes happen within days of the Full Moon or New Moon and it did happen in a few places in California and Nevada with a 3.0 M or higher.
