Coach Jerry’s Thoughts On LA Fire
My dear friend Coach Jerry lives in Southern California. Here are excerpts from an email he sent to me yesterday about the fire…
‘There are simply no words to describe the degree of anguish and pain our region of the world is going through.
It is so sad. So much loss.
Pictures do not properly portray the utter devastation. The media tends to sensationalize parts of the story, while minimizing other aspects.
For example, news reports will focus on a property worth 20 million, a beautiful single family home, but ignore the hundreds of mobile homes obliterated less than a mile away.
Or certain city officials will count an apartment unit as one structure lost, while, seemingly deliberately, failing to disclose said “building” was actually an apartment complex… housing 100+ families.

‘Below is an example of my new standard response to family and friends who have recently increased their interest in the geopolitical atmosphere, by asking…
“What the heck is going on?”
A relative called me this morning. She has been observing the incredible death and destruction, from “natural disasters” across America (US). She asked me directly why is it happening, and why is the government not helping.
My response:
“That answer is coming soon… and the humility created in humanity by these events, worldwide, will change the world for good, forever. It’s coming!”
I think I will adopt my aforementioned response as the short version for all other inquiries. My days of teaching and tirelessly talking, are over…’ (Coach Jerry)
I agree with Jerry. My days of teaching and tirelessly talking are over too. If someone has questions, I will be happy to respond – but I will not be initiating any conversations along those lines.
