Joe Biden is “determined” to close Guantánamo Bay before leaving office in January, the White House confirmed today following the announcement of three plea deals for al-Qaida terrorists held at the military facility.
President Trump signed an executive order in 2018 to not only keep it open but to expand it.
Trump’s order to keep the facility open reversed a previous directive from former President Barack Obama to close it.
Why is the Biden administration determined to close it?
