Trump says Dems are trying to ‘force’ Biden out, believes he’ll stay in the race—but Hunter is ‘calling the shots’

Donald Trump has said that he doesn’t think President Joe Biden will quit the presidential race. “It’s hard to give it up that way, the way they’re trying to force him out,” Trump said. He asserted that First Lady Jill Biden as well as Hunter are dedicated to making sure the president continues to the DNC and on to November.
“It looks to me like [Biden] may very well stay in. He’s got an ego and doesn’t want to quit. I think Jill would like to see him stay, she’s having a good time. I’m hearing Hunter is calling the shots,” Trump told Sean Hannity in the phone interview on Monday evening. There have been a number of Democrats, pundits and donors putting pressure on Biden to step aside.
As for being on stage with Biden during the debate, Trump said, “Within minutes I could tell this was not going to be a good night for Joe Biden.” He added that Biden looked “extremely pale” on the debate stage. Later, Biden seemed to take on a more tintend glow. “He was a very pale man, to put it nicely,” Trump said. “I don’t know, maybe it was a good makeup job, maybe it wasn’t a good makeup job.”
When Hannity asked Trump about his thoughts on if Vice President Kamala Harris were to become the nominee if Biden did step aside, he said that he thinks it “will be her.” Trump added that the Democrats are “gun shy” of putting anyone else in as the nominee.
In addition to the questions regarding Biden, Trump was asked about his own running mate for the election, who has still yet to be announced. He said that the VP pick will be “probably within the next week” and then added, “We’ll be announcing soon, and I think everybody’s going to be very happy. The choice will be very good. Meaning, a person who can do a fantastic job as president — you always have to think about that first — and second, somebody who’s going to help you get elected, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
