Part Two
KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
This letter is an effort to reveal, and explain and testify of the truthfulness of, the knowledge and understanding which the God of Heaven has made known to me in the course of my days in this mortal, temporal, life. Heavenly Father has granted to me knowledge of the purpose, meaning and eternal value of this mortal life. I have gained this knowledge and understanding over the seventy seven years of life which He has so far provided for me. It may be that he has provided all these years of life to me because I am such a slow learner or perhaps I had so much to learn, or possibly both.
Some special Prophets who ask a particular question get a whole load of knowledge all at once, way more than they asked for. But that is a very rare occasion. I give to you as much as He will help me to remember and as much as He will allow me to impart to you in this writing.
I know that my gift is etherial and does not constitute knowledge to you, but it may help you to recognize some of the truths that Heavenly Father is trying to impart to you. You may be able to more quickly comprehend and adopt as part of your own knowledge that which Father is trying to show you because of the help I provide for you, combined with the witness of the Holy Ghost.
The key to gaining real knowledge is to comprehend that it is, in truth, a special gift from God that may be accepted or rejected. Acceptance of the gift with gratitude will be followed by confirmation of that truth by another special gift, the witness of the Holy Ghost, (Holy Spirit of God). Each time you accept a gift from God he will give you another, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a relatively long wait.
If we think of our search for truth, as a gathering of great and small stones to set up a foundation for a great mansion, we will want to carefully examine each stone and set it securely into its best place. We will not want our mansion to collapse because of a weak or poorly laid foundation. We may all be slow builders hence the Lord most often provides the truth for us a little at a time as our foundation grows, or in other words as we become prepared to eagerly receive additional knowledge with gratitude.
Perhaps the paramount truth that we should adopt is that this current life experience in mortality will some day end. Very few of us have been provided a certain knowledge of when our mortal lives will end and we are left to consider that it could be at any time. This fact should cause us to consider that where we have so much to learn here, we should not spend too much of our time in idle pursuits.

The second truth is that our Heavenly Father has much for us to learn and that He may provide that knowledge to us a little at a time. These facts should engender a lively sense of urgency in our minds and hearts. We should pursue the attainment of knowledge of Truth with great energy.
Logically we could ask, “What is the value or urgency of gaining knowledge of a Temporal life?” The knowledge we obtain in this Temporal world does have value and even power beyond the Mortal realm. The facts surrounding our Mortal Sojourn when confirmed by positive evidence, indicate that the truths we obtain here will have determinative power with respect to our situation in the Eternal World. The Lord has said that those who have labored in this world to gain knowledge of him and power to live by his commandments will be accepted to live with him in his glorious eternal realm.
The most important knowledge we can obtain consists of the Divine Attributes of our Lord and our Heavenly Father. We were in fact sent to this world to see if we as individuals would seek and then live by the Commandments of our Father. We were told, by Him, that the most important commandment was to learn to love Him and our Fellow man. Jesus added, “…as I have loved you…”
So the most important attribute of God for us to learn is Love. There were two examples of divine love that were provided for us, that will help us obtain that absolutely key attribute. One was the act of Jesus the Christ, who suffered terrible agony as payment for our individual sins, illnesses, injuries, and heart aches, called the “Atonement”. The second example, which is mostly overlooked is the agony of our Heavenly Father who necessarily allowed the suffering and s-------e of his only begotten son, who had done no wrong.
I have sons who have done wrong in their lives here even as I have. Even so I could not bear to s-------e any of them. I don’t want any of them to suffer like our Lord did. I did not want our Lord to suffer like he did. The problem is that only an innocent person like Jesus the Christ was able to offer himself as a vicarious s-------e to pay the penalty for our mistakes, and there was only one of Him.
Jesus Christ is the final judge of every child of God, who has lived on this world through its temporal mortal state. It is given to Him to assign to every child of God, his or her own personal eternal station, or home if you will. If we want to live with Him and our Heavenly Father in the eternities, we are obliged to seek out the way of life that will qualify us for that divine Eternal Realm, and learn to live by it as closely as we are able, with daily repentance.
This world is actually designed to be a test that we cannot pass, without His help. You may recall that in the Garden of Gethsemane, even Jesus himself called out and was helped and strengthened to endure that awful agony. You may also recall that even on the cross, he refused to allow himself to die until the work he had taken upon himself was “…Finished…”, and only then committed his own soul into the hands of His Eternal Father. All the “work” he undertook to accomplish through his own suffering was for you and me.

Adam and his sweet wife Eve, according to the careful plan of our Father, undertook to bring all of us into this temporal world, to endure the impossible test. Jesus The Christ according to that same plan, undertook to reclaim, resurrect and exalt, all who were willing to try to succeed in gaining the necessary divine attributes. He endured his nearly impossible mission for each of us.
From the forty thousand foot overview there are only a few attributes that we must attain unto to qualify for eternal life with our God. First we must have the courage to try. Then we must have the determination to endure. We must have the humility to cry out for help. Then we must learn to Love our Savior and our Heavenly Father, who are the only ones who can help us. He has promised us all that He has. Worlds without end.
