Change is definitely in the air, for the world and for me too. For personal reasons, I am turning the site back over to its co-creator, Rhiyana Holiday, and this edition is my last contribution. 5/12/24 – “With Gov. Jim Pillen’s recent signature, Nebraska has become the 12th state to end capital gains taxes on sales of gold and silver.

“Under the new Nebraska law, any ‘gains’ or ‘losses’ on precious metal sales reported on federal income tax returns are backed out, thereby removing them from the calculation of a Nebraska taxpayer’s adjusted gross income (AGI).

“Sponsor Sen. Ben Hansen said upon news of the formal enactment of his legislation:

“Gold and silver are the only forms of currency mentioned in our Constitution and with that comes the people’s ability to use it as such without penalty from the government. Saving, and using, gold and silver is our right and one of the only checks and balances to our federal government’s unending devaluation of our paper currency.”

“Smith’s methodical approach encouraged the student to define what constitutes a bigoted opinion without imposing his own judgments, effectively teaching the student how to think, not what to think.

5/18/24 – “In August, the group was holding an event discussing t---------r biological males participating in female sports at the Mary L. Stephens Library in Davis.

“During the event, library staff asked them to leave.

“’The library violated our First and 14th Amendment rights,’ Allie Snyder, a member of the organization and one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit told the local ABC 10.

“The library changed its policies to promote the First Amendment rights of all people who use libraries in Yolo County. And it also agreed a payment of damages and attorneys’ fees for shutting down that event initially,” Matthew Hoffmann, with Alliance Defending Freedom, told the outlet.

5/15/24 –  “The Florida governor signed legislation Wednesday that would eliminate climate change as a priority in the state’s energy policies and is set to go into effect July 1. The legislation also takes out most of the references to climate change in Florida law, bans offshore wind, and weakens regulations on natural gas pipelines.

“’The legislation I signed today keep windmills off our beaches, gas in our tanks, and China out of our state,’ DeSantis told Florida’s Voice , an outlet friendly to the Florida governor. ‘We’re restoring sanity in our approach to energy and rejecting the agenda of the radical green zealots.’”

AI Chatbot Admits Artificial Intelligence Can Cause the Downfall of Humanity

5/23/24 – “The Daily Star has claimed that it succeeded in making an AI chatbot admit that artificial intelligence can one day cause the downfall of mankind.

“A Daily Star reporter asked the chatbot several questions, such as:

• Does it want to k--l all humans?
• Does it regard humanity as below it?
• Does it think Earth’s lifespan might be coming to an end?

“The questions failed to get relevant answers from the chatbot, which only responded with common clichés. 

“However, after continuing that line of questioning, the AI chatbot suddenly answered: ‘AI will one day get rid of mankind.’”

5/25/24 – “The ‘Greater Idaho’ movement notched another victory this week, as Oregon’s Crook County became the 13th county to vote to secede from leftist domination and join its more like-minded neighbors to the east. About 53% of voters approved a referendum recommending that county leaders engage in ‘continued negotiations regarding a potential relocation of the Oregon-Idaho border to include Crook County.’” 

“’The voters of eastern Oregon have spoken loudly and clearly about their desire to see border talks move forward,’ said Greater Idaho executive director Matt McCaw.

“’With this latest result in Crook County, there’s no excuse left for the Legislature and Governor to continue to ignore the people’s wishes.’”
