Mr. Anderson I have read your article a lot of information. In the world of scholars I’m sure their is much to be debated and credited to your dedicated research on the subject. Scholars such as yourself are a rare commodity in the world we live in. I have dabbled in the subject of the two calendars and I have found that the everyday average person couldn’t name the calendar we are using let alone tell the difference between the two and know idea that we switched from one to the other. I came to the conclusion that subject was best left to those who understand the difference it made and the effects it had on them. I have found and it has been proven through history and archaeology that man kind was more concerned about equinox March 21 and September 23 which for mark the time to sow their seeds and the time to harvest and prepare for the coming season. I believe that the Julian calendar and the Gregorian calendar were both produced by men who were trying to leave a lasting effect on the world. I’m sure both men thought they were doing man kind a great service but in the end it had little or no effect on man kind even to this day we use the equinox as a general indicator for our days and seasons and will continue to do so. No matter what name we give a month no matter what number we give a day or how many days there are in year, the only factor that matters are the beginning and end of the season “the birth of the new and the death of the old“ Not only dose this matter for all mankind it matters equally important for the animal world. Think about it our animal friends care not how many years months days hours and seconds there are. They are in tune with the seasons and they live their lives and prepare for the season to survive the same as we do. I suggest that some subjects are only important to those who are trying to give a meaningful perspective on the meaning of life in universe that we yet don’t fully comprehend. Do I understand the universe no do I understand the “ meaning of life “ no. I have had this discussion before do care about how many days hours or seconds in a day no. I guide my life by the seasons I use the equinoxes. What calendars we use doesn’t matter or what call them. The universe which is what man kind calls it will play itself out and we are subject to its whims we have no choice we all pons on the chest board of the universe. Some times I think we don’t realize how inconsequential we are in the realm of existence. The Julian and Gregorian calendar the meaning of life e=mass times velocity squared are all subjects of idiot minds. We see this through out history. Thomas I do not negate your work read it I take everything with a grain salt and add it to my memory. Thank you for your article.

Respectfully yours
An Ardent Patriot
Thomas Smith
