The United States has strongly condemned the Russian violation of the sovereignty of a weaker nation.
Take a look back. On March 2, 2014, on some Sunday morning talk show, the US Secretary of State John Kerry actually said the words: “you just don’t invade another country on phony pretexts in order to assert your interests.” He said it, I swear. You can hear it for yourself.
America, of course, was only protecting its “vital interests” when it invaded Iraq, on the other side of the planet, without provocation, in March 2003. How can the US now tell Russia not to intervene in a country that is right next door to them, where, of course, Russia unarguably has “vital interests” of its own. The US telling Putin not to defend its own national security interests is outrageous hypocrisy. It has been amply demonstrated that the United States does not care about national sovereignty or regional independence.
The US is simply using the language of empire. It’s all they’ve got left.
But you know what? The world is increasingly turning a deaf ear. And Vladimir Putin is certainly ignoring America’s threats. Everyone knows the United States won’t attack any country that is capable of making a strong defense. We’ve seen plenty of proof of that.
So … I guess it’s time for the schoolyard bully to prove how tough he is by beating the crap out of another defenseless friendless kid on the playground? Who will it be this time?
