The goal on the website says they must mitigate unidentified anomalous phenomena in the vicinity of national security areas.
The DoD considers Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena anything that is airborne, seaborne, spaceborne and/or transmedium.
=> AARO will be accepting reports from current or former U.S. Government employees, service members, or contractors with direct knowledge of U.S. Government programs or activities related to UAP dating back to 1945.
The Director of AARO is Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick. Sean M. Kirkpatrick is a laser and materials physicist. Previous institutions he has worked for include the CIA and DIA. He is the UFO version of Oppenheimer.
